Lewis Land Group has today unveiled plans for a $1.5 billion masterplanned community on the Gold Coast.
Designed as an exclusive ‘Village of Villages’, the 15.7 hectare Harbour Shores masterplan has been developed following a competitive design process involving some of Australia’s leading architects and landscape designers.
The development will cater to a diverse demographic including couples, families and retirees and is expected to be delivered over the course of the next decade, subject to market demand.
Matthew McCarron, Lewis Land Group Chief Executive Officer, said sustainability and community are key aspects of the masterplan, which includes a mix of apartments, waterfront villas and penthouses, and will eventually be home to more than 4,500 residents.
“We are excited to share our vision for Harbour Shores, which represents a $1.5 billion commitment by Lewis Land Group to the Gold Coast and will generate up to 5,000 jobs over the next 10 years,” Mr McCarron said.
“We are targeting a 5-star Green Star Certified community for this development through a range of environmentally focused initiatives, including energy and water conservation and resident wellbeing programs.”
The design celebrates the site’s 1.5 kilometres of canal waterfrontage, with a public access boardwalk and parkland allowing residents and locals to enjoy the waterways, on foot or by kayak or boat. The masterplan also includes a range of resident amenities including pools, tennis court and clubhouse facilities.
Located adjacent to Harbour Town Premium Outlets and close to Griffith University, the expanding Health and Knowledge precinct and potential G Link station, and with direct boat access to the Broadwater, Harbour Shores will provide an unparalleled standard of lifestyle amenity for the northern Gold Coast.
Mr McCarron said community feedback will be important to ensure that the needs of locals are met.
“The lodgement of this development application with Gold Coast City Council is the first stage of a focused community consultation program and we welcome the opportunity to discuss our plans with residents as well businesses and community groups over the coming months,” he said.
“We are thrilled to launch this project which continues our long history of crafting iconic addresses focused on providing residents with a unique Gold Coast lifestyle.”
Over the past 40 years Lewis Land Group has developed more than 2,600 lots across eight residential developments on the Gold Coast, including the iconic Sovereign Islands and Ephraim Island. The Group is also co-owner of Harbour Town Premium Outlets Gold Coast, which it developed in 1999, and which remains the largest outdoor outlet retail centre in Australia.
Sales are expected to commence mid-year, and construction by year’s end, pending approval of the Development Application by Gold Coast City Council.
