Lewis Land welcomes the Queensland Government’s announcement to extend the Gold Coast Light Rail to Harbour Town Premium Outlets Gold Coast.

This significant investment in infrastructure marks an exciting milestone for the northern Gold Coast, supporting one of the region’s fastest-growing residential, employment, retail and tourism hubs.

As co-owner of Harbour Town Premium Outlets and developer of Harbour Shores, Lewis Land understands how much this community has grown and how much more it has ahead of it. Harbour Town welcomes more than 10 million visitors each year, with around 60 per cent of spend coming from shoppers outside the catchment, including interstate and international visitors.

Lewis Land’s Head of Development, Michael Long, said the need for improved public transport connectivity would only grow, with the Harbour Shores residential community located directly opposite Harbour Town.

“The Harbour Shores residential development directly opposite Harbour Town will welcome 4,000 new residents over the next decade, with the first residents moving in this year,” he said.

“This announcement is not just about moving people from one place to another. This extension means future residents won’t just have a home — they’ll have genuine connectivity to jobs, education, health services and the coast’s world-class lifestyle.”

This morning, Harbour Town Centre Manager Greg Day and Retail & Tourism Marketing Manager Madeleine West joined Queensland Premier David Crisafulli and Member for Bonney Sam O’Connor for the announcement.

We look forward to continuing to work with government and key stakeholders as planning progresses and this important project moves forward.
