Sovereign Hills has announced a $15,000 donation to the Port Macquarie-Hastings Homeless Collective as Australia observes Homelessness Awareness Week, reinforcing their commitment to supporting the region’s most vulnerable residents.

The substantial contribution from The Lewis Foundation, the charitable arm of Lewis Land, will directly fund essential services including emergency accommodation, meals, and support programs for people experiencing homelessness across the Port Macquarie-Hastings region.

Representatives from Sovereign Hills joined hundreds of community members at Homelessness Awareness Day in Port Macquarie’s town centre, highlighting the growing need for collaborative action on housing insecurity.

The donation comes as homelessness services across NSW face unprecedented demand, with the latest Australian Bureau of Statistics data showing housing stress affecting record numbers of families and individuals on the Mid North Coast.

Cherie Caltabiano, Coordinator of the Port Macquarie-Hastings Homeless Collective, welcomed the continued partnership with Sovereign Hills.

“This generous support couldn’t come at a more crucial time,” Ms Caltabiano said. “With rising rental costs and limited affordable housing, we’re seeing people from all walks of life seeking help.
